Briarpatch Farmhouse Goulash
This one’s a true Southern classic — simple, hearty, and made for busy nights when you still want something that tastes like home. Using Briarpatch Farms Angus ground beef takes this dish to the next level, adding depth and flavor that makes it taste like you’ve been simmering it all day.
Ingredients:
1 pound Briarpatch Farms Angus ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional toppings: shredded cheddar cheese or chopped parsley
Directions:
Brown the beef: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Add Briarpatch Farms Angus ground beef and cook until browned. Drain if needed.
Add aromatics: Stir in onion and garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant.
Build the sauce: Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
Cook the pasta: Stir in uncooked macaroni. Cover and simmer gently for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens.
Serve: Spoon into bowls and top with shredded cheese or parsley if desired.
Serving Tip:
This dish pairs beautifully with a side of garlic bread or a crisp green salad. It also reheats well for leftovers — if there’s any left!
