Briarpatch Angus Frito Pie
Sometimes supper should be fun, a little messy, a lot flavorful, and guaranteed to make everyone smile. That’s exactly what this Briarpatch Angus Frito Pie delivers. Layered with hearty seasoned beef, gooey cheese, and the perfect crunch of corn chips, it’s comfort food with a playful kick. Using Briarpatch Farms Angus ground beef gives it a rich, savory base that ties the whole dish together, perfect for game day, casual dinners, or feeding a hungry crowd straight from the pan.
Ingredients:
1 pound Briarpatch Farms Angus ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1 small onion, diced
1 packet taco seasoning (or your own blend of chili powder, paprika, cumin, and garlic powder)
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans or pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 (10-ounce) bag Fritos corn chips
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Optional toppings: sour cream, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or green onions
Directions:
Cook the beef: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Briarpatch Farms Angus ground beef and onion; cook until browned and onions are soft.
Add flavor: Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5–7 minutes. Add beans and stir until warmed through.
Layer it up: In a 9x13 baking dish, spread a layer of Fritos across the bottom. Spoon the beef mixture over the chips, then top with shredded cheese.
Bake: Place in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Top with extra Fritos, sour cream, and your favorite toppings.
Serving Tip:
Serve it right from the dish for casual gatherings — or create “walking tacos” by layering the mixture into individual Frito bags for fun, no-dish dinners.
